Scottish Cycling Legend, Graeme Obree, Comes Out At 45

Bike Radar reports: "Both Obree's private life and his achievements on the bike have combined to make him one of cycling's most enigmatic figures. The Scotsman claimed the World individual pursuit title in 1993 and 1995 but is best known for his innovative and pioneering attempts at the World hour record. He claimed the hour record twice, in 1993 and 1994. The first successful, in Norway, saw him best a nine-year-old record held by Italian Francesco Moser using a hand-made bike constructed from spare parts dubbed 'Old Faithful'. That record lasted only a week as Englishman Chris Boardman improved on Obree's effort in Bordeaux, France during a rest day of that year's Tour de France."

Gaga Tweets The Lyrics For Her New Song "Born This Way"

Intro
It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
'cause you were Born This Way, Baby

Verse
My Mama told me when I was young
We are all born stars
She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir
"There's nothing wrong with lovin' who you are"
She said, "Cause he made you perfect, babe."
"So hold your head up girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"

Chorus
I'm beautiful in my way
Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way

Post-Chorus
Ooo there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Ooo there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Ooo there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way

Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Don't be!

Verse
Give yourself prudence
And love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice your truth

In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth
A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (hey hey hey)
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah (love needs faith)
Repeat Chorus and Post-chorus

Bridge
Don't be a drag, be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige chola descent
You're Lebanese, You're Orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
Cause baby you we're born this way
No matter gay, straight, or bi
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or Orient made
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to be brave

Repeat Chorus

Outro/Refrain
I was born this way hey!
I was born this way hey!
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey!

MEN Is A Very Gay Dance Rock Record For Queers By Queers

JD Samson is a butch lesbian responsible for Le Tigre. Perhaps Sia, her girlfriend, has had some profound influence on her because she's banded up with two other (presumably) lezzies for a gender-queer dance pop group called MEN. It's out on February 1 and this is the first track on the record and my favorite. The rest is not as stylistically challenging. Some of the lyricism is corny "Take your shirt off, don't take your shirt off, take your shirt off, don't take your shiiiirrrt off," for one. And "I'm gonna fuck my friends, I'm gonna fuck my friends" for another. But it's queers making queer dance music for queers. Can't beat that.

Jim Bakker Is A Powerful Christian Voice For Gay Inclusion

"In his new book Fall to Grace: A Revolution of God, Self and Society, Jay Bakker, the son of Jim Bakker and the late Tammy Faye Messner, gives clear and compelling answers to my nagging questions.

Simply put, homosexuality is not a sin, says Bakker, 35, pastor of Revolution NYC, a Brooklyn evangelical congregation that meets in a bar.

Bakker, who is straight and divorced, crafts his argument using the same "clobber scriptures" (as he calls them) that are so often wielded to condemn homosexuals.

"The simple fact is that Old Testament references in Leviticus do treat homosexuality as a sin ... a capital offense even," Bakker writes. "But before you say, 'I told you so,' consider this: Eating shellfish, cutting your sideburns and getting tattoos were equally prohibited by ancient religious law.

"The truth is that the Bible endorses all sorts of attitudes and behaviors that we find unacceptable (and illegal) today and decries others that we recognize as no big deal."

Leviticus prohibits interracial marriage, endorses slavery and forbids women to wear trousers. Deuteronomy calls for brides who are found not to be virgins to be stoned to death, and for adulterers to be summarily executed.

"The church has always been late," Bakker told me in an interview this week. "We were late on slavery. We were late on civil rights. And now we're late on this.""

Ricky Martin Was Really Gay On Oprah And It Was Great

Didier Lestrade, Legendary French Zine Queen, Serves Us

In a recent interview with Butt magazine, Didier Lestrade, who founded and ran a hugely famous french fagzine called Magazine (and then Tetu and ACT UP, too), told young gays to do their queer homework. How bewildered do you feel after reading this excerpt? I lost about an hour Wiki-hunting for explanations.

Billy Miller: I remember being very impressed when you published an interview with Brion Gysin, and you always featured the crème de la crème of international homo personalities of the 20th century. Can you relate any anecdotes about working on any of those pieces?

Unlike many young fags today, we knew our gay history. We were learning all the time about all kinds of stuff and we were always eager to lean more. OK, I admit we were snobs. We wanted to rub shoulders with those names, and we loved the idea of how it looked on the cover. For each cover, we simply put the title Magazine and then listed all the names of the people we interviewed for that particular issue. Just listing some of those prestigious names in effect created a brand for us. When you put Raymond Voinquel next to Paul Bowles, it looks good, and there’s no denying it. And at age 20, I was so excited to have my name related in even a remote way to someone like Brion Gysin! Even in the ’80s, we had the feeling that the gay world of the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s was vanishing. A part of me was happy about that too. It was like, good riddance to all that, and make way for us, bitch! But then the other part of me was fascinated by all that and we were trying at the same time to hold onto something from that era before it all passed away, which it did! It freaks me out to think how quickly we went from creating our own history to not caring about gay history anymore! It happened so fast. No one has even begun to collect and preserve all the material from the Paradise Garage, The Saint, etc., and now gay people don’t seem to even care. I don’t wanna sound tired and typical when I bitch about the young gays, but let me put it this way, they don’t go to gay bookstores in Paris anymore and they’re simply aren’t interested in learning about their own history. For instance, English queens were in the closet forever until people like Jimmy Somerville came along and were brave enough to be out there and strong and insisting on being themselves in spite of the consequences, but nobody give him his dues nowadays. That kind of thing bugs me.

Dear boy from the el and 66 - m4m - 20

You were wearing a snowflake cardigan type thing, had a blue art bag, and tan mocassin type shoes, possibly with fur lining around the top. I walked by you rolling a cigarette, then you sat next to me on the bus.

Haha, I thought you were real cute, and wanted to ask if you like do0ds.
