I Guess People Care That Lady Gaga Has A (HOT) Boyfriend
I really don't even like imagining her as a sexual being. I prefer the strange rumors about her that she's a hermaphroditic asexual creature with mystery parts downtown. But at least if she's going to 'GO PUBLIC' with a boyfriend it's this hot piece. Taylor Kinney is on a show called The Vampire Diaries and DAMN! Look at this guy:
Kelly, Honey, What The Hell Are You Doing With Your Piehole?
On Twitter, the other day, she farted out this piece of brilliance:
"I love Ron Paul ... I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote. Too bad he probably won't."
Then people started getting ANGRY and were kind of like DON'T YOU KNOW HE'S AN ASSHAT?! Fans and such were trying to educate her on the old man's hatefulness. She then Tweeted this gem:
"I have never heard that he’s a racist? I definitely don’t agree with racism, that’s ignorant."
So, yeah, he's definitely got a mild case of the racism and homophobia. She didn't know this, I guess? Maybe if she just ends everything in question marks she'll be alright?
"I love all people and could care less if you like men or women. I have never seen or heard Ron Paul say anything against gay people?"
I thought I loved her. Towleroad's the SOURCE.

Oprah Has Two Ministers Assert Being Gay Is A Gift From God
The funny thing is, when you search for this clip on YouTube, it's primarily posted by Christians freaking out about it. "YEA RIGHT!" says one host. But, honestly, it's nice to hear. Not that I need my life and my path to be approved by people of faith, but it's refreshing and a little affirming.

I'm Confused: This Is Heavy-Handed Sarcasm Here, Right?
The confusion starts with the title: Minnesota's Gay Community Apologizes to Disgraced State Senator Amy Koch for Destroying Her Marriage
"Last week Brandon posted about Minnesota state Senator and Tea Party leader Amy Koch, who resigned after it was revealed she had cheated on her husband with a member of her staff.
This week she received a letter on behalf of all gays and lesbians living in Minnesota:
On behalf of all gays and lesbians living in Minnesota, I would like to wholeheartedly apologize for our community's successful efforts to threaten your traditional marriage. We are ashamed of ourselves for causing you to have what the media refers to as an "illicit affair" with your staffer, and we also extend our deepest apologies to him and to his wife. These recent events have made it quite clear that our gay and lesbian tactics have gone too far, affecting even the most respectful of our society.
We apologize that our selfish requests to marry those we love has cheapened and degraded traditional marriage so much that we caused you to stray from your own holy union for something more cheap and tawdry. And we are doubly remorseful in knowing that many will see this as a form of sexual harassment of a subordinate."

Amazing: Navy Homecoming Kiss Is A Gay One This Time
As the Virginia-Pilot put it:
"As the homecoming drew near, the crew and ship’s family readiness group sold $1 raffle tickets for the first kiss. Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta bought 50 - which is actually fewer than many people buy, she said, so she was surprised Monday to find out she'd won.
Her girlfriend of two years, Petty Officer 3rd Class Citlalic Snell, was waiting when she crossed the brow.
They kissed. The crowd cheered. And with that, another vestige of the policy that forced gays to serve in secrecy vanished."

Anti-Gay Mississippi Mayor/Congress Candidate Forced Out
"The receipts were provided to state auditors in hopes of decreasing the approximately $170,000 they have demanded Davis repay the city for improper charges to both his city-issued and personal credit cards. Auditors asked city aldermen, who approved the expenses, to review the receipts before making a decision on accepting them to reduce Davis' payments...
...a review by The CA shows that Davis spent thousands of dollars at the Mesquite Chop House in Southaven and thousands more at local liquor stores. Also included in the receipts is a charge for $67 at Priape, a store in Toronto that is described by its website as "Canada's premiere gay lifestyle store and sex shop."
Davis said he didn't remember what he bought at the store, which he visited on a recruitment trip with Mid-South warehouse developers."
And then the big confession:
"At this point in my life and in my career, while I have tried to maintain separation between my personal and public life, it is obvious that this can no longer remain the case," Davis said Thursday afternoon at his Southaven home. "While I have performed my job as mayor, in my opinion, as a very conservative, progressive individual -- and still continue to be a very conservative individual -- I think that it is important that I discuss the struggles I have had over the last few years when I came to the realization that I am gay."

Jerry Sandusky's Lawyer Tells Skeptics To Call 1-800-REALITY
Via Towley:
"At one point, Amendola discussed the possibility that Mike McQueary witnessed a rape, told Joe Paterno and two university administrators, and no one did anything except tell Sandusky to stay out of the locker room with kids. To anyone who believes that version of events, Amendola said, "I suggest you dial 1-800-REALITY."
1-800-REALITY, as reporters quickly discovered, happens to connect to a triple-X gay phone line."
YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP!

I Can't Wait For John Irving's Bisexually-Charged New Novel
From his Facebook page:
"Here’s an early look at the cover of my new novel, In One Person, to be published May 8, 2012. My thirteenth novel, In One Person is about sexual identity. Billy, the bisexual narrator and main character, tells the story of his life as a “sexual suspect”—from his adolescence in the fifties, through the AIDS epidemic, into the present.
I first used the phrase “sexual suspect” in 1978, in my novel of “terminal cases,” The World According to Garp. I return to that theme in this novel; as a bisexual man, Billy is a “sexual suspect” in the eyes of both straight and gay people.
In One Person is my most political novel since The Cider House Rules and A Prayer for Owen Meany, but it’s also a tribute to Billy’s friends and lovers. Not least, In One Person is a portrait of the solitariness of a bisexual man who is dedicated to making himself “worthwhile.”
In addition to the cover image, I’ve included two quotes from my good friends and fellow writers Abraham Verghese and Edmund White. Their authority on the subject of this novel means a lot to me.
“This tender exploration of nascent desire, of love and loss, manages to be sweeping, brilliant, political, provocative, tragic and funny — it is precisely the kind of astonishing alchemy we associate with a John Irving novel. The unfolding of the AIDS epidemic in the USA in the ‘80s was the defining moment for me as a physician. With my patients’ deaths, almost always occurring in the prime of life, I would find myself cataloging the other losses — namely, what these people might have offered society, had they lived the full measure of their days: their art, their literature, the children they might have raised. In One Person is the novel that for me will define that era. A profound truth is arrived at in these pages. It is Irving at his most daring, at his most ambitious. It is America and American writing, both at their very best.”—Abraham Verghese
“In One Person is a novel that makes you proud to be human. It is a book that not only accepts but also loves our differences. From the beginning of his career Irving has always cherished our peculiarities – in a fierce, not a saccharine way. Now he has extended his sympathies – and ours – still further into areas that even the misfits eschew. Anthropologists say that the interstitial – whatever lies between two familiar opposites – is usually declared either taboo or sacred. John Irving in this magnificent novel – his best and most passionate since The World According to Garp – has sacralized what lies between polarizing genders and orientations. And have I mentioned it is also a gripping page-turner and a beautifully constructed work of art?”—Edmund White"
Get Ready To Weep: Thoughtful Comments To A Hateful Mayor
Not sure if you heard about this, but the Troy, MI mayor Facebooked this shit recently:
She's gotten in a lot of shit, obviously. And people lined up for the public comment portion of proceedings at a local meeting to express some thoughts. This lesbian couple with two daughters laid it out for her with so much grace, patience and heart. It gave me the chills and I got a little teary-eyed:

Gay Veteran In N.H. Made Romney Look Like An Asshole
Watch a video on Gawker, or read the nice ABC News blog entry. Dude is sitting in a cafe at a booth with his husband, and he asks the candidate if he believes in the sharing of benefits with same-sex couples who've served in the military. You could imagine it didn't go very well (for Mittens, really).
Paul Varnell, Gay Journalist, Led A Fascinating And Full Life
There's an absolutely stunning obituary in the Windy City Times that I highly recommend. But Queerty highlighted a few passages of interest for us:
He tried to marry a fellow gay journalist, Rex Wockner, back in 1989. Wockner puts it like this:
“He and I, as a journalistic exercise, tried to get a marriage license in Cook County in 1989. And when rebuffed, we filed human-rights complaints with the city and the state. We lost. We claimed sex discrimination but they told us it was sexual-orientation discrimination and that that wasn’t illegal at that time in Illinois. The Sun-Times made a big story of our little effort. We turned down an invite to appear on Oprah. I suppose everyone is unique, but Paul was unlike anyone I’ve ever known. I think it was the degree of his independence and the degree of his self-sufficiency that stood out.”
He didn't think Transpeople deserved to be in the LGBT umbrella:
"In a column posted on outonline.com, Pittsburgh’s Out newspaper, March 2010, he said: “I have no quarrel with various sorts of ‘trans’ people and I wish them well. But I cannot see any justifiable grounds for their inclusion in the gay movement or in the acronym LGBT. Transpeople have different issues from gays and it is important to keep those distinctions in mind.” He also objected to the use of the word “queer” by the gay movement.”"
Oh, and he was pretty much a Republican, and also a man who favored male sex work. What a man.
Straight Dudes Get Together To Drink And See What Happens?
Straight Built Guy at DMitri's - m4m - 28 (3rd and Catharine St in CC)
"You were on a date with your gf. Sat in the corner. Everyone in the restaurant was admiring your rugged good looks, handsome face and built body.
I was there with my gf. Would be cool to have a few beers or glasses of wine and see what happens.
I am 28 years old. 5'10 and built also. Italian and Greek. Hit me up."
What if his "gf" saw this!? It wouldn't be hard to figure out it was your man, would it? But if you happen to be the built man in the corner, you should consult this CRAIGSLIST ad pronto. Someone wants to get on your nuts.

Johnny McGovern, The 'Gay Pimp,' Is "Dickmatized" (NSFW)
I kind of hate this guy. I find his music, his personality, his style and his whole shtick to be pretty repugnant. But true to form, the overwhelming sexiness of the men in his music videos gains the attention of a gay audience for at least a few minutes. I will admit it: there are some very sexy men in this video.

You Little Shit: Tyler Clementi's Roommate Refuses Plea Deal
Via GAWKER:
"Dharun Ravi is the 19-year-old Rutgers student who in 2010 secretly monitored his roommate Tyler Clementi making out with another man via webcam and streamed it over the internet. Shortly after, Clementi killed himself. Ravi now faces 15 criminal counts, including invasion of privacy, and witness and evidence tampering — though he wasn't charged in connection with Clementi's death itself. Still, he's facing up to ten years in prison if convicted. Prosecutors offered him an attractive way out: A plea deal that would promise him no prison time, but included community service, probation and counseling. It also came came with the added enticement that the state would help Ravi fight any deportation charges brought against him. (Ravi is a citizen of India.) All in all, it was a pretty sweet deal.
He just rejected it.
"Simple answer, simple principle," his lawyer, Steven Altman, said after the court hearing, according to The Associated Press.
"He's innocent. He's not guilty. That's why he rejected the plea."
This comes just days after Clementi's parents spoke out for the first time to People, recalling that Ravi "wouldn't even look at Tyler" when the two were first introduced at the beginning of the semester. Ravi still has a month to change his mind, but assuming he stands by his (creepy, hateful) principles, the case goes before a jury on February 21."
This Is Some Of The Saddest Shit I've Read About Int'l Gays
This beautiful Turkish man was gunned down by his own father after he told him about his relationship with his loving partner. From Pink News:
"Ibrahim Can, the partner of Ahmet Yildiz, a gay man shot dead in a reported “honour killing” in the Turkish city of Istanbul, will speak about his experience at London’s SOAS tomorrow.
Ahmet Yildiz was 26 when he was shot outside his apartment building in the summer of 2008.
His father, Yahya, is believed to be on the run after the death of his son. He allegedly shot Ahmet after he revealed his relationship with Can.
Can fled to Germany on the advice of his consulate on the night of the killing.
Speaking to PinkNews.co.uk in 2008, he described homophobia in Turkey as “unbelievably bad”.
“I can only speak for the Istanbul area but in the countryside it is much worse. In the country honour plays too strong a role for the family,” he said.
“Apart from giving my statement to the press, I as an individual have absolutely no chance to bring his parents to justice for this murder of their son and my partner.”"
